Isew up some self-care.png

It's great to make big quilts, and one-of-a-kind clothing, but finishing smaller in-between projects can be so rewarding.

Here are a few of my patterns, aimed to keep us pain-free while we stitch.

Most of them are free and fall under the self-care category. New patterns are released first to my newsletter subscribers.

Sp1ke Cushion Cover

For those of you who have already purchased a Sp1ke cushion for your sewing and/or office chair, I've been working on a pattern to jazz things up Here are a few of the cushion covers that I've made as gifts for my friends and family. I’d like to say a big Thankyou to my pattern testers. It makes such a difference to have input from other sewists. You can download the free pattern here. Pattern

Flaxseed Heat Wrap free pattern.jpg

Flaxseed Heat Wrap

No matter how great our posture is or how often we stretch,  sometimes our bodies just need a little warm healing. This is a quick project.  Just pop it in the microwave for a minute and then wrap it around your body part of choice. Pattern

Infinity Posture Reminder

There are a few items on the market that claim to improve posture. I prefer to think of ways to remind us how our posture should really look and feel. The infinity scarf is a quick posture tool that you probably already own and if you don't here's a quick way to whip one up. Pattern

Rose Parr lap desk tutorial

Lap Desk for Handi-work

When we are hand stitching, our entire arm from the shoulder, down to the forearm, wrist, and fingers are all involved and let's not forget about our neck. Remember to always bring your work up to your eyes, instead of bringing your eyes down to your work. Pattern

Eye Mask

Some eye masks are hot and bulky. That's why this one is easy peasy, with no batting or interfacing. Just a front and a nice soft back with a little elastic to hold it in place. Make a few, and throw them in the wash frequently. Pattern

Seatbelt Protector

Every time I get in the car, the seatbelt seems to cut right into my neck. I used to just slip the shoulder harness down out of the way, but that's not too safe. These are a great way to use up your orphan blocks. Pattern
